28 Day Inner Ninja Challenge

Today I want to talk about how we deal with stress and maintain a positive attitude regardless of what’s happening around us? 


Some people seem to be able to focus on the positive in the face of some pretty negative events. 


They see the good in hard and stressful times, even when people aren’t very pleasant to them, they find opportunity in challenging situations, and they appreciate what they have, even in the face of loss. I have a very simple healthy habit that increases the ability to stay positive in life, and not dwell on things of the passed or react badly to things that you have no control over, even when life throws everything at you.


You can start to improve the way you feel and deal with stress by learning more about relaxation, but also gratitude. 


The brain is a muscle and you can improve your thoughts by exercising it the same way you exercise your body. This will help you have a more positive mood in daily life, increasing your emotional well being and learn to stay calm, in control and feeling more optimistic. I first learnt about the Importance of gratitude when a friend told me about a film called the secret this was about 12 years ago and when I first watched it I was really fascinated by the theories behind it. I watched it several times but I still don’t think I understood it fully and in-depth until more recently. 


The film explains about the laws of attraction and how we attract the things in life that we think about the most by the energy that we give out from the way we think, feel and behave. 


I know this sounds very strange at first but as ive learnt more about energy it is amazing how much I have become aware of how this really works. 


The more you practice it the better you can get at attracting good feelings and positive situations. Getting in a healthy habit of practicing gratitude leads to a greater sense of overall life satisfaction, and a greater sense of happiness.


Every morning I wake up and say thank you, I’m not talking to anyone in particular, I don’t think I have to focus on who or what it is I just know that I’m sending good energy out. You don’t have to say it out load if you feel silly. I say thank you for this day, thank you for everything I am surrounded by and then start listing things such as thank you for my comfortable bed, thank you for this lovely room , thank you for my healthy body, thank you for my loving family and friends etc. I’m sure you can think of a lot of things you are grateful for. Now the main reason I do this is that I want to feel good about my life right now, even if there are something’s I want to change.


I now realise that you have to be true to yourself as the law of attraction will always work with what you give it. You might not even be aware that you are giving off bad energy and this is the hard part to understand. If you are always saying I hate having to get up so early it will keep attracting things to you that make you get up early. 


If you keep repeating to yourself I look so awful and tired you will attract things that make you tired. If you are always saying I never have enough of something then you will always attract that and struggle. 


Be really careful what you are repeating to yourself every day.

1) Write down the things you say to yourself and decide if you need to change them into something more positive. Here is an example instead of saying “oh no I’m so tired, I don’t want to get up I’ve got so much to do and I feel so stressed already ! 


You could say “I am so happy and grateful for this new day that brings me so much love and exciting experiences, I feel good today. Thank you.


So to recap today...

1) Write down somethings you say to yourself and decide if you need to change them into something more positive.


2) Don’t forget to be drinking lots of water as I mentioned the other day. you should be drinking 2 litres of pure water a day around 8 large glasses. You can get apps on your phone to remind you to drink water throughout the day.
